Our Leaders

Conductor and Artistic Director

Picture
Josh Edwards has been bringing his passion for worship and leadership to Hillview Baptist Church in Graniteville, South Carolina, as the Worship and Administrative Pastor since November 2017. Whether he's leading the congregation in worship or handling behind-the-scenes details, Josh approaches everything with a blend of heart, humor, and dedication.

A gifted pianist, Josh doesn't just stick to the church stage. He's been a key player in several Augusta-area theater productions including Forever Plaid, Plaid Tidings, Children of Eden, Guys and Dolls, Always...Patsy Cline, and Les Miserables. His ability to bring music to life has made him a go-to accompanist and collaborator in the local arts scene.

Josh's academic journey is both impressive and inspiring. In 2002, he earned a Bachelor of Music degree from CArson-Newman University, laying a strong foundation for his musical career. A decade later, he furthered his education at Anderson University and graduated in 2012 with a Master of Ministry degree in Christian Leadership and Biblical Studies - a perfect blend of his passion for learning and his dedication to faith and leadership.

With a knack for blending his musical expertise, ministry experience, and approachable personality, Josh brings energy and creativity to everything he does. Whether he's behind the pulpit, at the piano, or just cracking a joke to lighten the mood, he's always ready to make an impact - and maybe have a little fun along the way.

Accompanist

Picture
Pianist David Brown and his wife Deborah have called Aiken, SC their home for the past 15 years. Equally comfortable in the classical, jazz, and cabaret fields, David brings over four decades of performing and teaching experience to the area. When he is not teaching piano at Aiken’s Carolina Academy of Music, or for the AU Conservatory Program, he’s also the accompanist for Aiken Choral Society, Paladin Productions, and the Aiken Unitarian Universalist Church. He can also be found playing jazz with “4 Cats in the Doghouse” at The Willcox.

David received his Bachelor of Music degree in piano performance from the Crane School of Music (SUNY-Potsdam), and master’s in music and music education from Teachers College Columbia University. He has served as staff accompanist at Montclair State University (NJ) and has also been a faculty member at Bergen Community College (NJ), Westchester Community College (NY), among others.  David has performed extensively as a recital accompanist throughout the Hudson Valley and Catskill regions of New York State and has performed with many Broadway stage performers as a freelance piano accompanist in New York City.
